Welcome to
Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home

Since 1929, we have been dedicated to providing area families with excellent service and quality merchandise at affordable prices.  Our team has decades of combined experience to help create lasting tributes that fulfill each family’s needs and traditions.  We do all of this by listening carefully.  Our team gets to know each family to help every individual remember, share, and ultimately move toward healing.

Given the reality of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it is important to know that funeral directors throughout Ohio are taking precautions to limit exposure to the coronavirus. We are still operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week making certain that those entrusted to our care and the families we serve are receiving uninterrupted service and attention, regardless of the cause of death. Serving our communities is our distinct privilege and honor.

As health officials have indicated, one way to limit the spread of the COVID-19 virus is through limiting public gatherings.  Our sympathies go out to anyone who has the additional burden of grief and loss during this time, and we are here to guide each family with their needs on an individual basis. Furthermore, we encourage all bereaved families to work with their funeral professionals to create meaningful services that fall within the governor’s, and Center of Disease Control, recommendation of limiting large public gatherings.

Social distancing is the best way to limit the spread of the COVID-19.  Therefore, we will not be holding public visitations or other public services at this time.  Until we receive clear instruction from state and local government officials that it is once again safe to hold public events, all services will be small and private, and will be limited to a certain number of the immediate family only.  We understand that this limitation is an inconvenience to the general public wishing to express their sympathy to bereaved families, but we want to remain socially responsible during these difficult times by protecting the families we serve, as well as the general public.

We are your neighbors and friends. We as Funeral Directors live and work in our communities and we take the impact of this pandemic seriously.  Above all, we are committed to the families we serve. We remain focused on maintaining high standards and ethical practices as we serve the dead and bereaved with the health and well-being of our communities in mind as we move forward together in the coming weeks and months.   By working together, we can truly make a difference and together we will get through these difficult times.
