FRANK J. MELESKY, JR., age 74

of Montezuma, died on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 11:16 A.M. at the St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima after an extended illness. He was born on February 17, 1946 in Waterbury, CT., the son of the late Frank J. Sr., and Eva (Blinstrub) Melesky. His wife Jill (Sanders) Albers survives in Montezuma. Also surviving are his children: Frank Melesky, III of St. Marys, Kimberly Melesky of Kansas City, MO, Casie Davids and Andrew Davids both of Blue Mount, KS, and Joshua Melesky of Alton, IL, as well as his grandchildren: Breanna, Zachary, Ethan, Christian, and Amanda; his great-grandchildren Theo and Ny-La, his brothers Walter Blinstrub and Robert Melesky, and a brother in-law Ralph Davendonis. Along with his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his siblings Sharon Davendonis, Peter Melesky, and Tom Melensky.

Frank attended St. Mary Academy before joining the United States Navy in 1963. He served until 1969, first attending submarine school, then was deployed in the Norton Sound, and later served on an experimental guided missile ship. After his service in the Navy, he attended Phoenix Community College. He worked for the Arizona State Hospital as a Physiological Technician, spent time as a labor foreman working on the British-Alaska Pipeline, and worked for several envelope companies in Arizona, Kansas, and Missouri before finally becoming self-employed doing construction and siding. He enjoyed fishing and traveling and also grew a large garden for many years. He could also fluently speak Spanish and Lithuanian, and he was proud of his Lithuanian heritage. Although being raised and remaining true to the Roman Catholic Church, he sought a deeper meaning to life though experiencing other religions.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen with Pastor Ed Rinehart officiating. Calling hours will be held on Saturday prior to the services at the funeral home from 11:30 A.M. until 1:00 P.M.
