John P. Lyons, age 94
of New Bremen, died on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 7:34 A.M. at Joint Twp. Dist. Memorial Hospital in St. Marys. He was born on October 15, 1926 near Chillicothe, Ohio, the son of the late Frank P. and Mildred H. (Hunter) Lyons. On August 30, 1948 he married Barbara Parent, who preceded him in death. Surviving are his children Kathleen “Kitty” Lyons of Massachusetts, Christine (Matthew) Settlage of St. Marys, David Lyons of Celina, Paul (Paulette) Lyons of Arizona, Stephen (Mary) Lyons of Columbus, and Anne Kirkpatrick of Columbus, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, and a sister in-law Alice Lyons of Delphos. Along with his parents and wife, John was preceded in death by a his children John P. Lyons, and Pamula Roulier.
John had served his country in the United Stated Army during WWII. He was a Machinist at the Ford plant in Lima for many years. In his free time he enjoyed going fishing and watching sports of television. He also enjoyed having his daily Budweiser. He was also known for being a complete handyman – one of those guys who was able to fix just about anything.
