Mark E. Forry, age 71,
of Bluffton, SC, passed away Sunday, September 17, 2023, after a hard battle with cancer. He left his earthly life surrounded by his loving family.

Mark was born January 10th, 1952, in Columbus, Ohio, son of the late Donald R. and Margery K. (Steinberger) Forry. On June 28th, 1975, he married Linda M. Lesher and they had four wonderful children together. He is survived by his wife and his sons Daniel Forry of Columbus, Ohio; Andrew (Stacy) Forry of Lexington, SC; Zachary Forry of West Chester, Ohio; and his daughter Shannon Forry of Cleveland, Ohio. He was very proud of his 2 grandchildren Nolan and Reylan Forry, children of Andrew and Stacy. He is also survived by his brother Michael (Chris) Forry; his sister Janice (Tim) Allton; his brother-in-law Joe (Teri) Lesher and his Sister-in-law Barb (Bruce) Lemmon as well as his nephews Levi (Brittany) Lesher, Jacob (Alyssa) Lesher, Adam Lesher, Trevor (Tracy) Allton, John Forry and a niece Kate Forry.

Mark was a 1970 graduate of Upper Arlington High School in Columbus, Ohio, where he was a member of the marching band. He continued his studies at The Ohio State University and in 1974 graduated with a chemical engineering degree. He went on to work for the Procter and Gamble Company in Cincinnati for 35 years. Two of those years were spent working for them in Toronto Canada before the family returned to Cincinnati. Mark worked primarily in product development and held 16 patents for work done on Bounty, Charmin, Always, and Puffs.

After retiring, he and Linda moved to Sun City, SC where he was a member of Church of the Palms United Methodist church. He continued to use his engineering mind in many activities such as wood working, wood turning, 3D printing, CNC designing, model building, remote control boat sailing, and other artistic pursuits. Mark served as president of the Sun City Woodworker’s club for a year before he became sick. He also enjoyed photography and loved to go on early morning trips to photograph birds. He cheered his grandchildren on at their sports activities and often shared easy engineering principles while playing games and constructing Legos. Mark and Linda enjoyed traveling together to other countries and took Viking Cruises to Europe and Russia in recent years.

A Service of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 25, 2023 at 11:30 A.M. at St. Peter’s Church in New Bremen with Pastor James Lampert officiating. Interment will follow in the German Protestant Cemetery of New Bremen. Calling Hours will be held prior to the services at the church on Monday, from 9:30 A.M. until 11:30 A.M.
