TIMOTHY W. TANGEMAN, age 72

Of rural New Bremen, died peacefully after a long battle with his health on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 4:45 P.M. at the OSU James Cancer Hospital, in Columbus. He was born on October 5, 1950 in Lima, the son of the late Harold H. Tangeman and Helen M. (DuBois) Tangeman who survives in New Bremen. On August 6, 1971, he married Martha Moorman, and she survives near New Bremen. Also surviving are his children and their spouses: Matthew (Gina) Tangeman of New Bremen, and Leslie (Shannon) Colwin of Madison, WI; his six grandchildren: Jacob (Madison) Tangeman, Ellie Tangeman, Cale Tangeman, Alena Colwin, Luci Colwin, and Micah Colwin; and his brothers and sisters in-law: Richard (Sharon) Tangeman of New Bremen, Michael (Chris) Tangeman of VA, Mary Tangeman of Forest, OH, and Terri Tangeman of NC. Along with his father, he was preceded in death by his brothers Ronald and Anthony Tangeman.

Tim was a 1968 graduate of New Bremen High School and went on to further his education at the Lima branch of The Ohio State University. Shortly after marrying Marty, he served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a Missile Technician. He was a faithful member of Faith Alliance Church in New Bremen where he had served as an Elder and a member of the Worship Team. He was a diligent farmer his whole life but also worked in various horticulture positions over the years at the former Manbeck Nursery and Crown Equipment Corporation. Tim liked to play just as hard as he worked. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and camping, and he especially loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He and Marty enjoyed taking several trips to Florida after retirement. Tim will be remembered by his family as being strong physically, emotionally, and spiritually; a steady and content man who was a hard worker (a man who could fix anything) and always willing to help and serve others.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at 10:30 A.M. at Faith Alliance Church in New Bremen with Pastor Trent Fledderjohann officiating. Private family inurnment will take place in the Willow Grove Cemetery near New Bremen at a later date. Calling Hours will take place at Faith Alliance Church on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. and again on Wednesday one hour prior to the services at church.
