ELAINE R. TIMMERMAN, age 76

Of rural Botkins, died on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 11:07 A.M. at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima. She was born on September 22, 1944 in Dayton, the daughter of the late Ray O. and Mabel O. (Stout) Thut. On May 1, 1965 she married Richard L. Timmerman who died on August 25, 1989. Surviving are her children Michelle (Charles) Axe of Anna, Melanie (Todd) Shellabarger of Botkins, and Randy Timmerman of Botkins; her five grandchildren: Renee (Alex) Roberts, Ryan (Brittany) Axe, Caleb Oren, Averie Thorpe, Keegan Thorpe; and her nine great-grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband, Elaine was preceded in death by her brother Don (Carolyn) Thut.

Elaine was a 1962 graduate of Centerville High School. She was an active member of the Immanuel Church in Kettlersville where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was also part of the Women’s Guild and Circle. For a period of time, she had worked for the U.S. Post Office in Botkins. She was an excellent homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Immanuel Church in Kettlersville with Pastor Ed Rinehart officiating. Interment follow in the Schwaberow Cemetery near Kettlersville. The service was broadcast online on the church’s YouTube Page https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4lfa-TufJdc&t=1129s“> Calling Hours will be held at the church, one hour prior to the services from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Memorial contributions in memory of Elaine can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, and condolences to the family can be left online at www.gilberghartwigfh.com.

    Please accept our deepest sympathy. Elaine was a very dear and sweet lady. We spent many years together with Circle, Guild, and Sunday School work. So sorry we cannot express our sympathy in person. We will be keeping you in our hearts and prayers.
