Surviving are her children: Nancy (Dwaine) Palser of Covington, Patricia (Willard) Platfoot of Minster, Ned (Mary) Meyer of Botkins, a daughter in-law Joyce Meyer-Ratterman of Botkins; 10 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren with one on the way, 21 step-great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren; her sister and brother in-law Martha (Kenneth) Thomas of Bucyrus, Ohio, and her beloved dog ‘Tiny’. Lucille was a 1934 graduate of New Bremen High School. She was an active member of Immanuel Church in Kettlersville, where she also took part in the Women’s Guild of the church, and helped to start FISH in Sidney. She had worked as an auction clerk for a number of years, but her real joy was working along with Harold milking cows on the family farm. Together they were members of the Anna Grange, holding various leadership positions over the years, and also enjoyed traveling, and taking fishing trips to Lake Erie. She was a skilled quilter, winning many awards for her quilts at the county and state level. Lucille also loved to sew, read, play cards, and she spent many hours tending to her flower beds and vegetable garden. She was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan, keeping statistics on the various players and she also had learned to use Facebook in the last few years. Lucille will always be remembered for her kind heart, beautiful smile, and contagious laugh.
