DOROTHY A. STUKENBORG, age 86,
Of Minster, died on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at 4:04 P.M. at the Heritage Healthcare Center in Minster where she had been residing for the last several years. She was born on June 24, 1935 in Sidney, the daughter of the late Charles H. and Leona C. (Gaier) Berning. On February 4, 1961, she married Frank V. Stukenborg who died on October 23, 1994. Survivors include her siblings: Ann Wise of Sidney, Charles (Susannah) Berning of San Diego, CA, and Vernon (Suzanne) Berning of Sidney, and several nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Minster. She had been a housekeeper for many families in the surrounding area for a number of years. She loved all things pertaining to Minster and the surrounding area; she was even the Grand Marshall of the Minster Octoberfest parade in 1994. She was a dedicated fan of the Minster sports teams and enjoyed following each of their seasons. She was an avid bowler for many years and she enjoyed polka dancing. Dorothy loved to entertain residents of local nursing homes by playing the piano and accordion.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. at the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Minster. Interment will follow in the St. Augustine Church Cemetery in Minster on Tuesday. The Mass will also be live-streamed on the church’s YouTube page, which can be accessed by the link below. There will be one hour of calling AT THE CHURCH prior to the services on Saturday from 9:00 until 10:00 A.M. Memorial contributions in memory of Dorothy can be made to the St. Augustine Catholic Church or to the Minster Area Life Squad.
