KATHRYN A. “KATHY” MANBECK, age 62,
of New Bremen, died unexpectedly in the Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Waco, Texas at 6:46 P.M. on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, while attending a YMCA Refit Revolution national convention. She was born on March 24, 1961 in Celina, the daughter of the late Kenneth A. Henschen and Peggy L.W. (Speckman) Henschen who survives in New Bremen. Also surviving is her son, Cody (Katie) Manbeck of New Bremen, her son in-law, Joe (Annette) Rammel of St. Marys, and her brother, Kent (Kathy) Henschen of Rockford, Illinois. Also left to cherish her memory are her precious grandchildren: Ella, Kinley, Jackson, Harper, and Brynn and step-grandchildren: Eli, Elise, and Emmie. Along with her father, Kathy was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Erin C. Rammel.

Kathy was a 1979 graduate New Bremen High School and went on to further her education at the University of Northwestern Ohio. She was an active member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in New Bremen were she had taught Sunday school and been the Sunday school Superintendent, a member of church council, and had played in the bell choir for many years. She had worked at Crown Equipment Corp. in New Bremen for nearly 25 years where she was the supervisor of the credit/collections department. She had also worked at the South branch of the YMCA where she was a supervisor and fitness instructor for Refit Revolution. She had been active in the OCCL organization, locally in the TLC-OCCL, where she was the district president and also held several state offices. Kathy was a fun-loving, busy-body. She was an avid walker, and also completed several 5k races. She loved to spend time traveling and scrap booking with her friends, but most of all, she loved to spend time with and be involved in her children and grandchildren’s lives. Kathy will always be remembered for her big personality, her joyful spirit, kind smile, and her big laugh that would always light up a room.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at the St. Paul United Church of Christ in New Bremen with Rev. Ken Locke officiating. Interment will follow in the German Protestant Cemetery of New Bremen. Calling Hours will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023 from 3:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen, and again on Saturday, at the church, one hour prior to the service. Memorial Contributions in memory of Kathy can be made to the St. Paul U.C.C. Memorial Fund (P.O. Box 6, New Bremen, Ohio 45869) or to the South branch of the YMCA (4075 Wuebker Road, Minster, Ohio 45865).     Where do you even begin to say goodbye to someone who was so full of life and spread joy to everyone she met? Kathy was truly an amazing lady who loved everyone.
