I’ll always be grateful for the opportunity of singing under Lynn’s direction in the Sun City Center Men’s Chorus and singing with him in our quartet as well as our barbershop chorus, Par for the Chorus. Lynn had a way of endearing himself to our audiences with his humor and his fierce loyalty to Ohio. And he never heard a 7th chord he didn’t like.

I was surprised and saddened to hear of Lynn’s passing. I always enjoyed talking to Lynn. And of course our love of music and singing was a common bond we shared. I feel honored to have been chosen to be his successor as the director of the men’s chorus in Sun City Center when he stepped down. I will miss Lynn, I know all the men who sang with him and under his direction will remember Lynn with a special warmth and affection.

I was saddened to hear of Mr. Hirschfeld’s passing. He was my 5th grade teacher at Shawnee Elementary School in Lima, Ohio during the ’71-’72 school year. One of the things I remember was on Friday Mr. Hirschfeld and Mr. Evans would play the piano and our combined classes would sing fun songs. He is one of the teachers in my life that made an impact with me. Thank you and prayers for you and your family.

I remember Fridays with Evans and Hirschfeld also. Does your bubblegum lose it’s flavor on the bedpost overnight? They sure made an impression on me. Rest In Peace Mr. Hirschfeld. You were one of my best teachers.
