Mark J. Shelby November 10, 1959 - June 6, 2018

MARK J. SHELBY age 58 of rural New Knoxville, died on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 2:13 P.M. at his residence. He was born on November 10, 1959 in Celina, the son of the late James W. Shelby, and Betty L. (Wright) Shelby-Mears who survives in St. Marys. On March 21, 1980, he married Donna Ahlers, and she survives at the residence. Also surviving are their children Margaret (Scott) McMichael of Wapakoneta, Steven (Emily Dicke) Shelby of St. Marys, his siblings Pat (Sheila) Shelby of Columbus, Chris Shelby of Minster, Connie Miller of Geneva, IL, and his four-legged companions, Bruce and Clarence.

Mark was a 1978 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School. He was a tool and die maker at Crown Equipment. Corp. for nearly 39 years, and also ran his own tool and die business for many years. He lived a simple life, and enjoyed collecting guns, working in his machine shop, and spending time with his family and his dogs.

The family will be holding a private service at a later date. Memorial contributions in memory of Mark can be made to the Auglaize Industries Activity Fund: 330 W. Boesel Ave., New Bremen, Ohio 45869.     So sorry for your loss. This was a shock. Mark was a great guy. I have known Mark since 1980, have worked with him at Crown and worked for him on several occasions when he needed help in his shop. We both shared a lot of the same interests. You will be missed Mark !

    So sorry for your loss. Mark was a great guy. He frequently came into Auglaize Industries to periodically fix our drilling machines or just to stop in and chit chat my nickname for him was mr. Sensitive because one day he was telling me a story and I teasing him and he says you know I’m a very sensitive guy that made me giggle he will be truly missed

    So sorry for your loss. Spent a lot of weekends with Mark in and out of town with the weekend business. Enjoyed every minute of it. Always a good laugh with Mark. Sure do miss his 3 1/2 hour chicken.

    So sorry for your loss , I grew up with Mark when he lived on State Route 66 St Mary’s. My husband met him through Crown.
