MEGAN M. HAMILTON, age 44,
of Luthman Road, Minster, and formerly of New Bremen, died suddenly on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at 4:48 A.M. at the Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. She was born on April 6, 1979 in Coldwater, Ohio, the daughter of the late Donald W. Hamilton and Anne M. (Dirksen) Hamilton. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Emma M. Gilbert of Anna; her brothers: Matthew Hamilton of Piqua, and Marcus (Cassie Covino) Hamilton of Huntersville, North Carolina; her nieces Eleanor and Virginia Hamilton; and her significant other, Robert Daniels of Minster. Also left to cherish her memory are a number of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and her precious dog, Snuggles.

Megan was a 1997 graduate of New Bremen High School and went on to further her education attending Edison Community College in Piqua and the University of Northwestern Ohio in Lima where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. She was baptized and confirmed at the Church of the Holy Redeemer in New Bremen and also attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in McCartyville. She had worked as the regional dairy accountant for the National Farmers Organization in Minster. Megan enjoyed her job and was a hard worker, but outside of work, she loved to be a homebody. She enjoyed her time crafting, painting, baking, having bonfires, playing cards, and helping in the garden growing tomatoes. She also loved running, and was very proud to have completed several half marathons. Most of all, she loved spending time with her extended family, taking trips to the beach, and being out on Lake Loramie. Above all else, Megan will be remembered for her fierce love of her daughter and her beautiful smile that would light up a room.

There will be no public calling hours, and a private family memorial service will be held at the Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen with Deacon Mr. Greg Bornhorst officiating. Inurnment will follow in the St. Martin’s Catholic Cemetery in Osgood. Condolences and memories can be shared with the family online at www.gilberghartwigfh.com.

Emma I am so very sorry for your loss. Your mom was such a sweet person and always had a smile on her cute face, even though sometimes when she came to pick you up I think she either had a headache or didn’t feel well. Always treasure the wonderful memories you had with her. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers as you journey through this difficult time. Your babysitter, Dot Schwartz
