Betty was a 1952 graduate of New Bremen High School. She then went on to further her education at the former Lima Memorial School of Nursing where she graduated as a registered nurse in 1955. She first worked as a nurse at the Joint Township Hospital, then at the former Valley Nursing Home and later at the Otterbein, all in St. Marys. She also spent time as a homemaker after each of the boys were born. Together as a family they enjoyed camping and took several memorable cross-country trips. Rick and Phil (and family),
I am so sorry for your loss. I will always remember your mom as being one of the most kind souls I have ever met. I still remember when she came in and was so worried and apologized for “backing into my car”. You couldn’t even tell where she hit that old Cadillac, but her poor car (was it a Citation?) was obviously damaged. She wasn’t worried about her car, only about mine. You have my deepest sympathy.
