CELESTE N. BIELEFELD-MEAD age 77,
Formerly of New Knoxville, died on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at the Arbor Oaks Care Center in Lakeland, Florida after a sudden decline of her health. She was born on December 29, 1946 in Celina, the daughter of the late Vernon H. and Ardythe J. (Huston) Bielefeld. On February 9, 1973 she married Edmond A. “Eddie” Mead who died on August 5, 2020. Being the last of her immediate family, she is survived by a number of close friends and cousins. Along with her parents and husband, Celeste was also preceded in death by her sister Dawne C. Bielefeld.

Celeste was a 1964 graduate of Lakeland High School, and went on to further her education at the Polk State College, graduating in 1971. She worked in the Polk County School System as an interpreter for the deaf between Oscar Pope Elementary and Lakeland High School, working some 39 years before retiring in July of 2014. In her spare time, Celeste enjoyed traveling and crocheting. She was a woman of deep faith and she enjoyed witnessing to others as a Jehovah’s Witness.

Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. in the Evangelical Protestant Cemetery in New Knoxville, with Pastor Dennis Gaertner officiating. Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen is assisting with arrangements. Condolences and memories can be shared on the funeral home website at www.gilberghartwigfh.com.

    Celeste was a good friend and always fun to be around. She had an infectious sense of humor and will be greatly missed.
