Jan R. Dicke – age 46,
Died suddenly on Saturday evening, August 24, 2019 at the Joint Twp. Dist. Memorial Hospital in St. Marys. He was born on July 10, 1973 in St. Marys, the son of the late Shirley A. (Kyburz) Dicke, and Edward F. Dicke, Sr., who survives in Minster. Also surviving are his brothers: Ed Dicke, Jr. and Jay Dicke, both of Minster.
Jan was a 1993 graduate of New Bremen High School. He made a career being a farm hand working for Poeppelman Farms, Greg Stueve, and Cooper Farms. Jan and his family were active in showing their Lamancha goats for many years. As a family, they belong to the American Dairy Goat Assn., the SW Ohio Dairy Goat Assn., the Indiana Dairy Goat Assn., and the Tri-State Dairy Goat Assn. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching sports on television, especially the OSU Buckeyes and Cincinnati Bengals, as well as watching farm videos on YouTube.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, September 1, 2019 at 4:00 P.M. in the Chapel at St. Paul United Church of Christ in New Bremen with Rev. Becky Erb Strang and Pastor Dee Schroer officiating. Inurnment will be held in the Pilger Ruhe Cemetery near New Knoxville at a later date. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services on Sunday, at the church from 3:00 until 4:00 P.M. Memorial Contributions in memory of Jan can be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ, 119 N. Franklin Street, New Bremen, Ohio 45869.
