Karen Leota Farley, age 77
of New Bremen, died on Monday, April 22, 2024 at 3:30 P.M. at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys. She was born on November 13, 1946 in Celina, OH, the daughter of the late Carl F. and Lucile M. (Fark) Moeller. On February 28, 1965 she married Gary Lee Farley of Anna, OH, who preceded her in death on March 2, 2021. Karen is survived by her two daughters: Dawn Hess of Chickasaw, OH, Jill (Mike) Speca of St. Charles, MO, her son: Greg (Gina) Farley of Tega Cay, SC; and her grandchildren: Ashley Dahlinghaus, Lindsay Hess, Nate (Kristin) Hess, Brandon, Brooke, Peyton and Trent Farley, Madison and Dominic Speca, and 6 great-grandchildren. Karen is also survived by her brothers, Ned (Susie) Moeller and Ron (Diane) Moeller.

Karen was a 1964 graduate of New Bremen High School, where she was a varsity cheerleader. She was an executive assistant at Crown Equipment Corporation in New Bremen for 46 years and was part of the 25 year club. Karen also spent 17 years working evenings at the former Jenni’s Hallmark in Minster. Karen was a member of St. Paul U.C.C. in New Bremen. She also was a member of the Friends of New Bremen Library, New Bremen Historic Association and involved as a EMT with the New Bremen squad. She loved her family and kept up with and on the go attending her grandchildren’s many sporting activities through the years. Karen also enjoyed gardening, books, puzzles, trips to Gatlinburg and was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 2:00 until 5:00 P.M. at the Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen, with a funeral service to follow at the funeral home beginning at 5:00 P.M. with Pastor Bryan Trego officiating. Interment will follow in the German Protestant Cemetery of New Bremen. The Memorial Contributions in memory of Karen can be made to the New Bremen Historic Association.
