Linda A. Yaney January 16, 1947 - November 18, 2022

LINDA A. YANEY, age 75

formerly of New Bremen, died on November 18, 2022 at her residence in Sidney. She was born on January 16, 1947 in Celina, the daughter of the late Luther A. “Jack” and Margaret B. (Coffield) Hirschfeld. On December 12, 1992 she married Orval E. Yaney, Jr., who died on August 24, 2009. Survivors include her brother Gerald Hirschfeld of New Bremen, and her special friend and neighbor Susan Fogt of Sidney. Along with her parents and husband, Linda was preceded in death by a sister in-law Ann Hirschfeld and her beloved fur babies JD and Spanky.

Linda had attended New Bremen Schools, and had attended the Church of the Holy Redeemer in New Bremen. She was a life-member of the VFW Post 4239 in Sidney. She had worked at the former St. Marys Cotton Mill, the former Barn 66 of New Bremen, and at Burger King in Sidney. She dearly loved her dogs, and she enjoyed being around people, talking to them and learning about their lives.

A graveside service to honor Linda’s life will be held on Monday, November 28, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. in the German Protestant Cemetery of New Bremen conducted by Deacon Brad Feltz, where inurnment of Linda and her husband Orval will take place. Memorial contributions in memory of Linda can be made to the Shelby County Animal Rescue Foundation (P.O. Box 671, Sidney, Ohio 45365).
