RENATE C. SCHAUB age 82
of New Bremen, died on Friday, March 15, 2024 at 3:15 A.M. at the Grande Lake Healthcare Center, St. Mary, Ohio. She was born on May 18, 1941 in East Germany. She was the daughter of the late Hugo and Ida (Bartle) Trautzsch. On December 20, 1992 she married Larry Schaub who preceded her in death on December 14, 2022. Survivors include her children; Lutz Trautzsch of Waynesfield, Gert Sponiac of Frankfort, Germany, Michael (Danielle) Mohrman of Houston, OH., and Monica Bushman of New Bremen. Also surviving are her two grandsons Travis Trautzsch and Adam Bushman. Preceding her in death was her brother Holst Trautzsch and her son in law Michael Bushman.
Renate had moved to the United States in 1964 and became a U.S. citizen a few years later. She was a member of the Wapakoneta Eagles and the Elks. She enjoyed bowling on the small machine alleys that were popular in the many taverns in the area. She also enjoyed playing bingo several times a week. She was a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Ohio State University football team. She had been a homemaker but had also worked as a bartender, a waitress, and also a manager at various bars and restaurants in the area over the years.
