ROBERT A. KRAMER, age 68

of New Bremen, died peacefully on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 1:15 A.M. at the Vancrest of St. Marys. He was born on June 5, 1953 in Coldwater the son of the late Urban J. and Mary E. (Utz) Kramer. On September 1, 1973 he married Susan Ahlers who survives in New Bremen. Also surviving are his children Matthew (Maureen) Kramer of St. Henry, Beth (Greg) Ivanovics of Chardon, Angie (Vern) Dye of Springboro, and Alan (Diana) Kramer of New Bremen; his grandchildren Anderson, Mylee, and Grayson Kramer, Isabella “Izzie”, Avery, and Sarah Ivanovics, Maria, Emma, Michael and Savannah Kramer. Also left to cherish his memory are his siblings Larry (Dian) Kramer of St. Marys, Kathie (Rob) Teague of New Bremen, and his in-laws Mike (Trina) Ahlers, Judy (Vern) Schwieterman, Lois (Mike) Elking, and Jeff (Jill) Ahlers. Along with his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a brother James Kramer and a brother in-law Tommy Ahlers.

No matter what challenges Bob faced, he always had a smile on his face. He was friends with everyone he met and didn’t know a stranger. Often known as “Dodge Bob,” he enjoyed all things Dodge. He spent countless hours working in the garage and was the proud owner of a 1970 green Dodge Charger. In 2016, Bob retired from Crown Equipment Corporation in New Bremen after working there for over 45 years. He was a lifetime supporter of the Boy Scouts of America and was a faithful servant of the Lord. He was an active member of the Church of the Holy Redeemer in New Bremen where he served as an usher for numerous years. Bob always enjoyed playing one of his multiple guitars. He loved listening to classic rock and classical music, but the Beatles were always his favorite. His family was his pride and joy. As a family, some of his favorite memories were spent camping and boating at the lake. He loved watching his grandchildren participate in their numerous activities and sports. Family time was the highlight of his days. Like the Beatles would say, “All you need is love…love is all you need.”

You have our deepest sympathy in this passing of Bob. He was a very quiet and patient man., very dedicated with helping the youth through the Boy Scouts. He worked with John’s dad, George, Sr., for many years at Crown. A good man who will be missed by you as family, and many friends and acquaintances. We saw him in the Bremenfest parade and got a big smile and wave. Rest in peace, good guy. Play God’s guitar now. John and Gin Voress

Dear Kramer Family, I’m so deeply sorry for your loss. Bob will always be remembered for his dedication to the community, Boy Scouts, and all of you, his beloved family. I remember him for being full of joy and cheer, always smiling and saying hi, and for telling the best stories that made everyone laugh. Our families shared a special closeness as neighbors. If I was ever in earshot of hearing Bob tell a story, I’d stop and listen, even when it was a story I’d heard before. He was such a great storyteller that I knew I’d laugh just as hard as when I heard it the first time. His life and the wonderful memories will always be a blessing to everyone who knew him.
